Head Coach: Marques Bravo

Assistant Coaches: Garrett Adams, Mitch Burke, John McNaught

The wrestling coaches at DCCHS believe wrestling is a great opportunity to learn valuable lifelong skills and build the right attitude and positive attributes that lead to success. We believe it is a sport everyone should experience.

We emphasize teaching foundational wrestling skills, fundamental athleticism, and, most importantly, fostering a passion for wrestling. Our biggest metric for success is that when you complete your journey at DCCHS and compete in Thunder wrestling, you leave as a better person than when you started. Our goal as coaches is not only to help you grow as a wrestler but also to guide your development of high personal character.

About Our Head Coach

Coach Bravo grew up in Fort Lupton, Colorado, the same town as DCCHS Head Football Coach Mitchell, and began wrestling at age four. After graduating from Fort Lupton High School in 2004, he attended Western State in Gunnison, Colorado, to wrestle for the Mountaineers.

Bravo wrestled five seasons at Western State, becoming a four-time NCAA Division II National Qualifier and a two-time NCAA Division II All-American. He graduated in 2009 with a BA in History.

After graduating, Bravo married DCC Head Volleyball Coach Melissa Bravo. He worked for Western State as a wrestling coach and alumni relations coordinator for three years. In fall 2012, he began student teaching at DCC and earned his MA in Education from Western State in May 2014.

Coach Bravo spent the 2013-14 season at Falcon High School as a social studies teacher and assistant wrestling coach. He has been the head coach at DCC since 2016. He and his wife have two daughters, Charlee and Andee.

Coach Bravo and the Thunder Wrestling staff’s vision is to create gritty, hard-working, principled athletes and individuals. Our basic goal is for athletes to be better prepared for life after going through our program.
