Welcome to Cheer!
Thank you for your interest in being a part of the Discovery Canyon Cheerleading program! Cheerleading is a high-energy and unique sport. We are so glad you want to represent the school as a cheerleader!
Varsity and Junior Varsity Squads
The Varsity (Sideline) squad will cheer at Varsity home & away Football games and home Varsity Basketball games. Tumbling is not required to make Varsity; however, it is highly encouraged. Please note that having tumbling does not guarantee a spot on the Varsity team.
The Varsity (Competition) will be selected from athletes on the Varsity squad. A standing back handspring will be required to compete. Your spot on the competition team is not solidified, and you may be removed, at any time, per the coach's discretion.
The Junior Varsity squad will cheer at JV home Football and JV home Basketball games. The Junior Varsity team will also be competing in a traditional routine. Tumbling is not required to make Junior Varsity; however, it is highly encouraged.
Members of both squads will also be expected to participate in community outreach, fundraisers, and team builders. Cheer does require a large time and financial commitment.
To participate in tryouts, tryout participants must be registered including a current physical. The coaches cannot accept physicals. See our Registration and Sports Physicals pages for additional information.
