ICAP at Discovery Canyon

Beginning in their 9th grade year, students begin to work on their ICAP and continue to update their goals and options through their 12th grade year. Naviance​ provides an incredible array of resources both for colleges and careers. 

9th Grade Required ICAP contains the following task(s):

  • Create a four year plan of study

  • Complete Career Interest  Profiler & add favorite careers to my list

  • Enter your postsecondary and workforce goal 

10th Grade Required ICAP contains the following task(s):

  • Complete Strengths Explorer

  • Enter your postsecondary and workforce goal 

11th Grade Required ICAP contains the following task(s):

  • Complete Game Plan survey

  • Complete SuperMatch college search

  •  Add colleges to my list of 'Colleges I'm thinking about'

  • Enter your postsecondary and workforce goal

  • Register for NCAA (or NAIA) for potential college athletes (please see your school counselor)

  • Take PSAT and or ASVAB (October 14, 2015)

12th Grade Required ICAP contains the following task(s):

  • Add colleges to my list of 'Colleges I am applying to'

  • Create/Update Resume

  • Enter your postsecondary and workforce goal

  • Search and apply for scholarships if college bound and appropriate

  • Continue college search and add colleges I’m applying to

  • Register for COF

  • Register for NCAA (or NAIA) for potential college athletes

  • Retake ACT or SAT if needed

  • Apply to college if college bound or appropriate alternative applications

  • Apply for Financial Aid

  • Complete Graduation Survey
