• If you need to register for classes outside the registration window, or if you have questions after exploring the documents here, please contact your counselor.

School Choice Students

Application-Based Courses

Several courses offered at DCCHS and at the district level require an application. If you are interested in taking any of these courses, please use the links below to apply:

• AFJROTC
• Career and Technical Education (CTE) Courses (apply by April 1 for fall programs; Nov. 1 for spring programs)

Course Selection Guidelines

• Discuss as a Family: Please discuss class choices as a family and make sure you and your student agree.
• Discuss with Teachers: We encourage students to discuss course selection with their current teachers if they have questions regarding placement.
• Select Carefully: Choose all classes with care, keeping in mind balance.
  • Every class = 30 minutes to 1 hour of homework
  • Every Honors/AP course = 1.5 to 2 hours of homework per night
• Schedule Changes: Schedule changes will only be made for the following reasons:
  • To fill an open period in your schedule
  • To change a class if you do not meet the prerequisites or requirements for a class on your schedule
  • To retake a class that you failed
  • To fill an A or B section of the same course
