Coach Melissa Bravo is the Head Volleyball Coach, an Assistant Weights Coach, and Physical Education teacher here at DCC HS since 2012. She grew up in Colorado Springs, graduated from Pine Creek, played all four years at Western Colorado University (Gunnison, CO), was an assistant coach at WCU for four years, and then came to DCC. Coach Bravo taught math for four years and now teaches physical education. Her husband, Marques Bravo is the head wrestling coach at DCC and a humanities teacher and they have two children at DCC, Charlee and Andee.

Coach Jeff Henry is the Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach at DCC.  He is a father of 3 young children and a relatively recent resident of Colorado Springs.  His volleyball career began in college coaching for the Chicago region girls’ volleyball club, Rip Tide.  Later, he joined and played for the Men’s Club Volleyball Teams at his Alma Matre, Northern Illinois University, and Ball State University where he received his Master of Science degree in Biology.  Jeff has played volleyball competitively for 27 years, and during that time frame coached volleyball at a variety of levels ranging from elementary age to high school to college.

Coach Joleen Schnake is the C-Team Coach and has been with the Thunder since 2017. Coach Schnake graduated from Woodland Park High School and received her BA in Exercise Science from UNC. Coach Schnake has been coaching and teaching since 2003 in the Colorado Springs area (coaching multi-sports such as volleyball, girls’ basketball, and track). She and her husband Scott have four kids at DCC: Faith, Josiah, Levi, and Isaac.

Coach Hannah Pethtel is a proud alumnus of the DCC volleyball program and has been coaching with the Thunder since 2020. She has received several awards and recognitions at DCC, the PPAC, and the CHSAA levels. She was awarded an athletic scholarship to Western Colorado University as a setter and played for the Mountaineers in the 2019 season before returning to the Springs to pursue her BS in Medical Laboratory Science at UCCS. She’s looking forward to contributing to the success of the DCC program.

Coach Shane Haughian is an assistant volleyball coach at DCC. He is a retired Air Force pilot who now works at United Airlines. He and his wife, Heather, have two children at DCC (Luke & Lexi). Coach Haughian served as the Liberty Assistant Volleyball Coach – leading Liberty’s program to their two most winning seasons. He also coaches club volleyball at Colorado Springs Altitude Volleyball and serves as a goal-keepers coach for DCC Girls Soccer. With 30+ years of leadership/coaching experience, he is passionate about mentoring youth leaders and looks forward to working with DCC athletes and families.
