Tanya Ramsay - Head Coach

Coach Ramsay grew up in La Junta, Colorado, where she graduated from La Junta High School. During her high school career she started at shortstop or catcher. She was a four-time All-Conference and two-time All-State player.

She later attended Otero Junior College, starting at shortstop both years. During this time, she twice earned All-Region Player honors and helped her team to win the school’s regional championship in 1998. Following her time at Otero, she attended Colorado State University in Pueblo where she continued to start at shortstop. In both 2000 and 2001 she was selected as both an All-Conference and All-Academic player. CSU-P won the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships in 2001 and finished the season ranked 7th among all NCAA Division II schools. She graduated with a BS in Business Management with an emphasis in finance.

Coach Ramsay was the assistant coach at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs from 2002 through 2008. She graduated from the Women’s Coaching Academy in 2005.

Cara Moyer - Assistant Varsity Coach

Coach Moyer was born and raised in Sierra Vista, AZ. She came to Colorado to play outfield at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs where Coach Ramsay was an assistant coach. She played for UCCS for three years. She graduated in 2010 with a degree in elementary education and a minor in business. She began coaching at Discovery Canyon in 2008.

Coach Moyer started with the program as an outfield coach. Since then she has become Coach Ramsay’s right hand. She assists in all areas of the program and has the experience to address all parts of the game. She is currently a kindergarten teacher in Colorado Springs District 11 at Fremont Elementary School. In 2015, she completed her graduate work at the University of Colorado in Denver, earning her masters in Curriculum and Instruction focusing in math and science.

John Flores - Head JV Coach

John Flores is a native of Colorado Springs, graduating from Rampart H.S. in 1993. John played baseball, football and was a 3 time all-state lacrosse player. John enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson AZ. During his enlistment John played rugby for the Air Force and worked as a mechanic on the A-10 Warthog.

John separated from the Air Force in 1997 and started attending the University of Arizona to get his degree in Mechanical Engineering. While attending the U of A he worked as a PGA assistant golf professional and played lacrosse for the U of A club team. After college he went to work for Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson where he worked as a Mechanical Designer. Coach John took a job at Goodrich Aerospace in Colorado Springs in 2007 to be closer to family. He now works for United Launch Alliance in Denver CO as an Electrical Engineer after earning his BSEE in 2012.

John has coached baseball for Sand Creek H.S. and youth competitive teams ranging in age from 8U (2014) to 16U (2008) and others along the way. He started coaching softball at Rampart H.S. in 2015.
